Giants losing share as battery market grows

Power battery giants CATL and BYD have seen their market shares decline even as the market maintained robust growth momentum driven by the booming new energy vehicle industry.
In 2025, the cumulative installed capacity of power batteries across the country hit 769.7 gigawatt-hours, up 40.4 percent year-on-year, according to the China Automotive Battery Innovation Alliance.

"A world model understands what is happening in the physical world at this moment and predicts what comes next, including planning capabilities," said Arnold Gao, vice-president analyst at research firm Gartner.

DeepSeek launches new AI models with top efficiency and performance

HANGZHOU - Chinese AI tech firm DeepSeek officially released two new models on Monday evening - DeepSeek-V3.2 and its high-compute variant, DeepSeek-V3.2-Speciale.
By implementing a robust reinforcement learning protocol and scaling post-training computation, DeepSeek-V3.2 performs comparably to GPT-5, according to the company. The AI model balances high computational efficiency while maintaining superior reasoning and agent performance.

Nvidia welcomes approval to ship H200 chips to China

US chip company Nvidia told China Daily on Tuesday that "offering its H200 chips to commercial customers is a welcome approach."
The comments came after US President Donald Trump said that the United States will allow Nvidia to ship its H200 products to approved customers in China.
Nvidia's H200 chips, although one generation behind its latest Blackwell chip, is considered among the most advanced and high-powered AI chips.
